Nujuma: the distance that becomes a luxury
What a confirmed ownership story reveals about privacy, island architecture and returning to the same place.

From returning guests to owners
On 22 December 2025, developer Red Sea Global named Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez as Nujuma homeowners. It reported two purchases: villas with three and two bedrooms. Repeated visits preceded the decision. The ownership is documented, rather than inferred from a holiday photograph.
Privacy begins before the front door
Almost 26 kilometres separate the island from the mainland; arrival is by chartered boat or seaplane. Privacy takes a physical form. For an owner, this also raises questions about transfers, frequency of visits and care of the home between stays.
A home has a different scale
The current residential page describes 19 villas with one to four bedrooms, terraces and private pools. Dewan’s architectural account separately describes the hotel’s 63 villas. These are different programmes: a resort stay and a residential purchase should not be confused just because they share the Nujuma name.
A roof shaped by the shore
Foster + Partners designed the resort’s shell-like forms; Dewan served as executive architect. Natural materials, woven details and regional craft place the architecture in conversation with the shore. The useful question is how that language works in a particular home: where the shade falls, how the terrace faces the water, and which rooms open toward the view.
The name and the responsibilities
The residential disclosure identifies The Red Sea Real Estate Company I LLC as the company using the Ritz-Carlton marks under licence. It also states that Ritz-Carlton does not own, develop or sell the residences. The relevant next step is therefore a conversation about a specific home, its documents and service arrangements. A well-known owner can introduce a place; the place still has to fit your life.
