01 / THE CHARACTER OF THE BRAND

Every home has a story.

1887Singapore · the first ten rooms

Raffles began in Singapore in 1887 with the Sarkies brothers’ modest ten-room hotel. It became a meeting place for travellers and writers. The brand’s heritage is not only architecture but personal hospitality, embodied by the butler.

02 / LIVING WITH THE NAME

From a philosophy
to your own address.

Raffles draws on its heritage of storied places, generous hosting and cultural exchange, pairing historic character with contemporary expression. Its defining service signature is the discreet, highly personalised butler who anticipates needs and helps residents or guests experience the destination beyond their suite.

Today Raffles offers private Residences with access to its signature services. The OWO in London and a new collection of 28 homes beside Raffles Bali offer different interpretations: a historic city address and tropical seclusion.

03 / THE IDEA BECOMES A HOME

The OWO Residences by Raffles

The former Old War Office is adapted into homes through restoration and a contemporary interior language grounded in the building’s own history. Residential interiors are by 1508 London; the hotel interiors are separately attributed to Thierry Despont.

Character in the details

From public history to a private home.

The OWO is a rare home whose story begins with the biography of an entire building.

William Young designed the Old War Office in 1898; after his death, his son Clyde completed the work. It opened in 1906. In 2023, a new chapter brought together a Raffles hotel and 85 private residences.

The restoration preserved Portland stone, oak panelling and the grand staircase. For a homeowner, the next page matters too: the hotel and residential spaces are separated by a courtyard, and ceilings in selected homes reach 4.4 metres.

Historical names belong to the building’s past, not to ownership or endorsement of today’s residences.

ONE NAME. DIFFERENT WAYS TO LIVE.

Choose your own
way of living.

Privacy, service and the layout of a home vary by project. These examples make the differences tangible.
